About the two poems...

For those of you who have asked and others of you who might be wondering, it was Fabio who sent the Steinbeck and Elizabeth replied with Montale's poem.

Wedding Gifts

No, we are not registered anywhere!

First, for us the greatest gift is to celebrate our wedding we you. We mean this sincerely - we know that most of you will be making a big effort and taking a long trip to get to Matera and we really appreciate that.

Secondly, please feel free to give any gift inspired by your heart. For example we know that some of you have expressed the desire to contribute to our honeymoon and that's wonderful.

Lastly, for those of you who would like to give us a gift but don't have something specific in mind, the thing that seems to make more sense for us now would be money.  As some of you might recollect from your own experience, we are facing new expenses as a fresh young couple and still figuring out where to put roots.

We hope this is helpful.

Calendar of festivities

A festival of a weekend?!

Friday night before the wedding everyone is invited to partake in an evening of music, theatre, poetry at the Montemurro's cafe... so please bring along musical instruments, past stories, marionettes, memories, photos, lyrics, high spirits and join us for this warming-up party! 

Saturday morning there will be a tour of the Sassi for anyone interested in discovering the ancient Matera neighborhood. Please let us know if you would like to join in. 

And Sunday after the wedding there will be a 'farewell' brunch to meet and greet before everybody leaves!

We would of course like to have as many of you to come as possible, so please keep these events in mind when you make your travel plans.
